Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp Seed Oil

I don’t like picking favorites, but Hemp Seed Oil may be one of my favorite ingredients in the Gotu Face Oil. Hemp Seed Oil is loaded with linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid also found in our skin. Essential fatty acids are crucial to our skin’s function and appearance. A deficiency can lead to dryness/itchiness, scaliness and water loss. Our body can’t make its own essential fatty acids and so it is imperative that we continue to provide them through food or topical application. The essential fatty acids in hemp seed oil contribute to skin barrier function, protecting us against microbes/toxins and water loss. In our dermis, the thickest layer of skin, essential fatty acids help balance inflammation and may minimize collagen damage. As if that’s not enough, hemp seed oil is high in minerals and free radical fighting flavonoids! It’s easy to see why our customers with acne-prone and sensitive skin love the Gotu Face Oil.

Besides its high nutritional content, hemp has another superpower…pulling heavy metals from soil. This is important for 2 reasons. 1. If you are using hemp seed oil for personal use, it is so important that it is sourced from a high quality grower. You do not want to be eating or applying hemp products that have accumulated heavy metals. 2. When used industrially for this purpose, hemp can be a sustainable strategy for reducing the presence of heavy metals in our soils.
