“Since 2015, we’ve grown herbs, vegetables, and berries on multiple growing sites around Central Ohio, and in 2020 we added a larger farm and production site in West Jefferson. We are first-generation, female farmers committed to environmentally and socially just practices.
Our dual focus on cultivated and foraged produce encompasses a broad range of herbs, fruits, greens and roots. Our foraging ethic leans heavily on research and monitoring for each crop harvested to ensure true sustainability.
We've been proudly certified organic by OEFFA since 2017 for both our fresh produce and seedlings and as a handler for our farm-produced teas and salts. In 2020 we added Real Organic Project certification, verifying that our growing practices are focused on the health of our planet.”
“Century Sun Oil starts by requiring a specific variety of certified organic high oleic sunflower seed to be used. Planting, soil nutrition and crop monitoring throughout the growing season is done in partnership with our organic farmers. From there, the seeds are carefully harvested and stored until ready for pressing. All operations from cold pressing, filtration, bottling, packaging and shipping are performed at the Century Sun Oil facility. Our only focus is sunflower oil, we do not process any other seeds. To complete the eco cycle, our residual meal is sold to organic animal farmers for a much-needed high protein supplement. This is an added benefit for both us and the farmers, as there is no waste being created.
Century Sun Oil's processing methods are also certified organic, which means no chemicals are used in any part of our production system. Our cold-pressed and lightly-filtered methods allow for all of our sunflower oil's natural healthy constituents to remain for you to enjoy.”
“Lancaster Farmacy was founded in 2009 by Elisabeth Weaver and Casey Spacht, after a return to their roots in Lancaster County from a background of grassroots activism, community organizing, cooperative models, farming, herbalism, and rewilding.
In the growing food movement, Elisabeth and Casey see the need for reclaiming health care and making it accessible at the local level. Having experienced the healing power of herbs themselves, they are inspired to nourish the community and the earth by growing natural medicine.”

“My dream for Cutting Root is to match the plants I cultivate to the people who need them. Whether flowers in a bouquet, the transplanting of a beloved medicinal to your own garden or a personalized tincture, I want to create accessibility to these plants. That accessibility lies in the growing of hard to find botanicals, private consultations, and herbal education. To me, being an herbalist is a political statement. It means encouraging community care, challenging the status quo of health care and building connection to the natural world. I take a harm reductionist approach, including diet, nutrition and lifestyle changes and use alternative methodology such as reiki, focusing and meditation in my practice. I practice and teach with the Stonefruit Community Herbalists in Pittsburgh, PA and the Stone Cabin Collective in Black Mesa, AZ.”
